Using Social Media To Inspire You

As I sit here writing this blog, the rain is hitting against the house and it is the perfect weather for staying inside. But what do you do in this situation? Many like to wrap themselves in a blanket and catch up on tv and movies, others get some work done and do things around the house. But for me, I feel like this is the perfect time to get inspired. I know for me, I tend to get very uninspired and lazy on days like today but I have to try to counteract this feeling. Getting inspired is so easy with social media. My favorites are Instagram and Pinterest because they are very visual based. Below are screen grabs from my Instagram page (which you all should follow!) I mostly use other social media platforms to inspire my Instagram page in order to create great content! I am the type of person who is all about taking pictures not only to remember a moment in time but to also share it on social media (ik soooo basic of me! lol)

I try to keep my Instagram page as up to date as I can. I am a huge fan of an Instagram theme, but sometimes it can be difficult to create a cohesive page. For this, I usually turn to Pinterest and other Instagram accounts. I like to share variety amongst my page, keeping it fun and aesthetically pleasing! My account is mostly fashion-based (obvi!) but here and there, I like to share pictures of food, inspirational quotes, etc. My posts are typically pictures that I feature on my blog, I'll post just a few of them to my page in order to drive traffic onto my blog.

Social media also inspires me when I am brainstorming new blog post ideas. I always want to create new content that is relevant and creative. I especially want it to reflect who I am and my brand. Most times, I have an ongoing list of blogpost ideas, but I always need new ones. Below are a few screen grabs from my Pinterest account. I love creating new boards that are filled with things I love!

I have a lot of boards on Pinterest that are fashion-related which inspire me the most. Anything having to do with current trends, styling, or posing has a place on my boards. This helps tremendously when I need a bit of inspo! I get a lot of inspiration from scrolling through Pinterest because it helps me to acquire new posing ideas, different ways to wear a certain style, what looks good and what doesn't, and how to place different aspects of a picture. I have always had a love for photography too! I typically use my iPhone as my prime way of taking pics for my blog, I know that is not the ideal way to take my photos. However, I am looking into the best camera (for beginners like me) that I can use to make my blog better!

One of my favorite boards on Pinterest is my "Pictures to Take" Board. Although this may sound kinda goofy, it really is a great way to make more creative content and to make your Instagram page or blog even more interesting! Use is when you are traveling, visiting a cute coffee shop, of just need a fun pose for your next Instagram post. I am super awkward sometimes when it comes to posing so i can always find inspo if I need it on social media.

Social media is a great way to keep all your ideas and things you are inspired by in one place. Not only is it the easiest way to be inspired but also the cheapest too! Social media can lead you to so many opportunities. I could literally spend an entire day scrolling though social media. It's so fun to find new ways to make your own social media better and be inspired to create new content that will not only be fun for you to create but also for your viewers to love! Whether I am looking for what I want to do next with my hair, how to style something, or how to pose I can always count on social media to help with new ideas.

Everyone uses social media differently, but for those who are avid users of social media (like me), you take it a step further than everyone else. Call me crazy, but I put a lot of effort into my social media accounts because its part of my brand and where I want to take my career. Many believe that social media is toxic and eliminates interaction between one another. Some think that it isn't used in the right way, which can be true sometimes. But if you use it in the right way, it won't be toxic or eliminate human interaction, but instead be a creative platform to share who you are.

Thank you & Hope You Enjoyed! :)
